Teatime at the MEURICE, story of a mascarade

A FuirThe Meurice is one of the most prestigious French palaces. I had dreamed about a real teatime there for ages. But at the end of the day, I wish we had never go.
Don’t get me wrong, the decor is amazing and the teaware is impressive but that’s all. The staff during our visit was quite incompetent: our tea was clearly over-infused, we mentioned it to the waiter. He didn’t apologize or even tasted it to check if we were wrong, but instead boasted of the tea expertise at the Meurice. The cakes were quite good but clearly not worth the €46 price tag (for each).
Take a look at the second picture below, the black dot on the orange peel on top of the cake is a fly. No, we haven’t photoshoped it. And yes, this is a palace.
