TOP SPOTS BY | Erin Patinkin & Agatha Kulaga, co-founders at Ovenly

Le Grumeau paid a visit to Erin Patinkin et Agatha Kulaga, the charming founders of Ovenly Bakery (Greenpoint – Brooklyn).
After spending a few years behind the scene, supplying coffee shops and restaurants with savory-sweet goodies, they’ve now enjoyed some well-deserved success since they opened their own location and had a few successful partnerships with Brooklyn Brewery or Joe the Art of Coffee.
If you stop by Ovenly, the chocolate chip cookies (featured in our ranking of the best cookies in New-York), and the mind-blowing Montego Bay bars are not to be missed. Erin and Agatha, who just won the Time Out Award for the Best New Bakery shared with us their favorite spots, where they eat and drink when they’re not in the Ovenly kitchen.

Le Grumeau: Rumor has it the two of you found the recipes for Ovenly cakes over some cocktails, so we thought you must be experts about good spots in New-York for drinking well-executed drinks. Tell us where should we go.
Agatha & Erin: We love Nights & Weekends, they make amazing vacation style cocktails.
We also enjoy Spuyten Duyvil, they have a pretty solid beer menu and a nice backyard when the summer comes.

Le G: Where do you like to grab lunch when you don’t feel like commuting and leaving Greenpoint?
A & P: Greenpoint is home to one of the largest Polish communisties in New-York, so you’ll find dozens of amazing restaurants from here. Lomzynianka outshines its neighbors and makes great Polish food, and it’s very inexpensive.

Le G: Your favorite dish in New-York?
A & P: The Fish and Chips from Do or Dine in Bedford Stuyvesant is not to be missed.

Le G: Any sweet spot for a fancy dinner?
A & P: Rucola makes great northern Italian delicacies in Boerum Hill. They have great seasonal selections for dinner, the rigatoni bolognese are a hit.

Le G: Any good Asian spot you’d recommend us?
A & P: Go to Queens, most of the Asian community in New-York lives there. We really enjoy going to Sripraphai which makes amazing Thai cuisine in Woodside.
