Everybody knows Laduree, the French luxury bakery so famous in Paris that it opened a shop on Madison Avenue in New-York. But to be honest, their macarons are not the best, we preferred those made by Pierre Herme. He’s one of the best pastry chefs, the one who created the Ispahan (a delicious cake made of rapserry, litchi and rose) and also an amazing double decker macarons maker.
The macarons Pierre Herme are always very fresh, which is quite challenging because we thought that the quality would dip down as Pierre Herme opens a few shops every year in Paris. We also love these macarons because they’re intense and the flavors combinations are quite creative like the olive oil and vanilla macaron.
First, the thin crust will crak under your teeth, then you’ll feel the delicious and flavorful cream filling invading your mouth. We particularly appreciated the Mogador (milk chocolate and passion fruit), the Infinitely Rose, the Infinitely Jasmin and the Olive Oil & Tangerine. And you, what’s your favorites?
If you don’t know them yet, you should rush and buy your tickets to Paris or Tokyo because there’s no Pierre Herme macarons outside France and Japan.
