Regardless of whether I’m in Roma, Paris or New-York, I’ve always been relieved when I realize there’s a Grom gelateria. These ice cream are the best antidote against summer heat and love sorrows.
Not only does this Italian gelateria help us fight against that couple of major blight but it also gives a serious twist to my ice-cream universe by selling healthy ice-cream (i.e with no colorants and other additives) made from a selection of the best products.
Yes, Grom did lose its arty feel by opening dozens of locations across the world, but the quality and the flavors are not missing.
I have a special crush for Grom’s sorbets, particularly intense and flavorful. It’s hard to make more refreshing and flavorful ones. The lemon from Syracuse, Sicily and the the pink grapefruit are not to be missed. Grom also makes incredible whipped cream, or panna montata, with the help of a special machine which makes circulary movement. It’s very rich and tasty.
Prices are on the steep side at Grom, with around €4 for a small cup. But again, the quality is above what you’ll find at Haagen Dazs. You should definitely have a try at the sorbets but when it comes to ice-cream we prefer going to il Laboratorio del Gelato.
