People living rue des Martyrs in Paris are probably the most luck food ie crowd in the capital. There are tons of good spots around there, including Marlette, the new hipster joint and Gocce, a great Italian cocktail bar. A new addition to the neighbordhood is la Fabrique à Cookies, literally the cookie plant. Appealing, isn’t it? Beyond the classics, they have pink praline, salted caramel butter, and calisson d’Aix cookies.
We went with a chocolate chip cookie, and a Montelimar nougat cookie. The dough was very buttery, just as we like, not too greasy nor sweet though we’d loved more chewiness. We may have spent too much time in New-York, where good cookies are often sticky.
Our favorite one was probably the nougat cookie as the flavor of this South of France specialty was very present, there’s nowhere in Paris where you can find such a great specimen. Each cookie is priced €2, not cheap but that’s the price to pay to get something good rue des Martyrs.
