Dalloyau is one of the not-to-be-missed pastry shops in Paris. They have tons of desserts to choose from, but also breads, croissants, boxes of chocolates and catering entrees. It’s not a typical boutique as they have many branches throughout Paris, just like Fauchon and Laduree.
We treated ourselves well with a coffee Religieuse and an Opera, Dalloyau’s most famous pastry. They were to die for.
The Religieuse consists in two choux pastries garnished with coffee cream and topped with coffee glaze. The puff pastry was moist enough and the coffee cream was intense. It was not too sweet, but not bitter either.
Whether you’re a big fan of the Opera, or if you don’t know what it is, Dalloyau’s Opera is not to be missed. Probably one of the best and most tasty you can find in Paris. The Opera is composed of thin layers of cake soaked in coffee syrup, coffee buttercream and chocolate ganache. It was delicious, both flavors- chocolate and coffee – were intense and equally present in mouth.
However, prices are quite steep at Dalloyau: an individual pastry is sold around €6.
